Lawn Fawn Interactive Card

I created a slider card with a hidden slider channel.  I was inspired by a video I viewed on the MFT
Blog (by Stephanie Klauk).
Wish I could show you the sliding car in action, but that feat will have to wait for another day!  I used the following Lawn Fawn products:  Happy Trails (car), Mom Plus Me (tree), So Cool (sentiment and snow), Slide on Over dies, Little Town Border Die.  I used Distress Inks to color the houses and sky.  Thanks for visiting my little ol' blog!!

Essentials by Ellen Mix -it-Up Challenge

Hello!  I've been missing in action for sometime now.  However, I have happily returned to my crafty life!  I have created a card for the Essentials by Ellen September Mix it Up Challenge with Concord & 9th.
To be honest, I only own one Concord and 9th stamp...the tree ring background (not to say that I don't have more of their sets on my wish list).  So...my options were limited.  The adorable bear from Essentials by Ellen's All Inside seemed to fit with the tree ring.  I white heat embossed the tree ring and blended on distress inks (Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo, and Ground Expresso).  The bucket came from the Bear Wear set by Essentials by Ellen, and the fitting sentiment from Warm Fuzzies.  LOVE these sets and how they all work together!!  The images were colored with Copics.  There you have it.

Thanks for visiting my lonely and neglected little blog...it's greatly appreciated!

Simon Says Stamp May 2016 Card Kit

I'm finally posting a card that wasn't created using Lawn Fawn stamps exclusively!  I subscribe to the SSS card kit, and I love receiving my box of goodies each month. I almost never pass on a kit.  I'm not always so good about using my kits to make more than a few cards, but I aim to get better at that.

I stamped the sun and clouds using selective inking to delete the smiley faces, then masked to blend the sky using Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Inks.  I paper pieced the umbrella using one of the adorable plaid papers by Lawn Fawn that are included in the kit.  I needed the umbrella to protect something, so reached for the cute little bird from Lawn Fawn's Year Four stamp set.  The sentiment is from the Pink Fresh stickers from the kit, and I used the grassy border die (Lawn Fawn).  Hard to see, but I added Glossy Accents to the raindrops.  The sun was colored with Zig Clean Color markers, and I used Copics on the clouds (the clouds are covering up the catastrophe created when I attempted to use the gray Clean Color marker!).  I'm happy with the way my card turned out, but there were some redos along the way!!

You're Unbelievable/Lawnscaping Challenge #128

Time for another Lawnscaping Challenge.  This one is a sketch challenge, which I've never done before.  I have to say, though, that I really liked having the sketch to draw from.  It took some of the guesswork out of it for me!  Once I saw those two diagonal lines, I thought of a highway.  And that, of course, led me to the Happy Trails set.  Big Foot was an afterthought.
I have to be honest...this card was my fourth attempt! The other three just didn't make the cut!  Lawn Fawn sets used:  Happy Trails stamps/dies, Lovable Legends stamps/dies, tree background die, So Jelly (inside sentiment), Journal dies (stars).  I used the mirror stamping technique so that one of the cars could travel the opposite direction.  This card is as CAS as I am capable of!  Here's the inside:

I really enjoyed this sketch challenge!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!!!

Gathering Flowers/Lawnscaping Challenge #127

Another Lawnscaping Challenge.  I almost didn't make a card for this challenge...I'm not too good with florals.  I thought I'd give it a try anyways.  Here's what I came up with:

I watercolored the background using my Koi watercolors.  That's another skill I'm trying to improve upon!  I used the following Lawn Fawn sets:  Party Animals, Love You S'more (squirrel), Happy Harvest (sunflowers), Our Friendship Grows (vase and stem/leaves), Life is Good (sentiment).  Pattern paper is from Polka in the Meadow and Perfectly Plaid.  Images were colored with Copic markers.

I will be entering this into Lawnscaping Challenge #127/Beautiful Florals
Off to add it...almost out of time.  One of my goals is to post more often and also enter some of the other card making challenges out there.  Thanks for visiting my blog...it's really appreciated!!

Craving Sweets!

I created this card for the current Lawnscaping Challenge.  Finally, I created something that matched what I had envisioned in my head. I guess I'm getting better at planning!

The deer is having "sweet" thoughts of cupcakes, ice cream, and s'mores.  Hey, who doesn't?  Unfortunately he only has veggies to eat.  I used the following sets from My favorite company, Lawn Fawn:  Party Animals, Rooting for You, A Birdie Told Me, Baked With Love, Into the Woods, Love You S'more, Best Pun Ever, Bake Me a Cake, and Stitched Hillside Border dies.  Whew!  As you can see, it's very easy to combine Lawn Fawn sets.  I'm entering this card into Lawnscaping Challenge #126/Sweets

I'm working on taking better photographs.  The sun is not a common appearance in Washington, at least at this time of year!  Thank you for visiting my blog. It's greatly appreciated!!!

Stinkin' Hot

I created a card to enter into the current Lawnscaping Challenge.  I wanted to use the adorable skunk from Lawn Fawn's Stinkin' Cute, but didn't have a solid plan in mind. I knew I needed to use mostly black and white with a splash of color, so that's where the night sky came to mind.  It all evolved from there.  I find that my cards usually do NOT end up the way I had envisioned them!  Anyway, I used the following sets from Lawn Fawn:  Starry Backdrops, Love You S'more, Stinkin' Cute, Milo's ABCs, as well as the tree and stitched hillside border dies.  The night sky was created by blending Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire, Hickory Smoke, and Black Soot distress inks.  I also added the Black Soot to the front hillside to get a darker hue since I didn't have a dark gray card stock that worked.  The skunk and campfire were colored with Copics.

I will be entering this card into Lawnscape Challenge #125 Color Splash

Thank you for visiting my little ol' blog.  Have a great day!!

I Heart You

I created a Valentine themed card:

I stamped the gum ball machine from Lawn Fawn's Sweet Smiles.  I had the idea to fill it up with hearts rather than the gum balls, and some selective inking did the trick.  I then filled it up with hearts, masking as I went so that there would be a good pile of them.  I searched through my stash for the perfect sized heart, finally settling on one from the Happy Wedding set by Lawn Fawn.  I stamped the faces from the Sweet Smiles set, giving each heart a personality.  I used Finley's ABC's for the letters, and pattern paper from the Hello Sunshine 6x6 pad.  The gum ball, I mean heart, machine as well as the large heart were coated with Glossy Accents to give them some shine. The background was created using the falling hearts stencil from Simon Says Stamp and spun sugar distress ink.

I had plans to enter my card into the Lawnscaping Challenge #123/Sending Love, but I'm a couple days late :(. Not the first time that's happened!  Oh well...maybe I need a planner!

Thank you so much for stopping by my little blog, I appreciate it greatly!!!

Love is in the Air

I was so ready to leave the holidays behind and create a cheery Valentine's Day card.  Give me pink and red anytime!  I love the hot air balloon stamp by Simon Says Stamp/Pretty Pink Posh (Darling Friends), and knew it would work perfectly for my card.  I sponged the cloud background using a mask created from Lawn Fawn's cloud border die and Tumbled Glass distress ink.  The "love" is from the Peace, Joy, Love stamp set by Lawn Fawn, and I used Milo's ABC's for the rest of the sentiment.  The balloon and adorable mouse were colored with Copics and fussy cut since I don't own the dies.  The pattern paper is from Doodlebug's Sweethearts collection (an older pad I had on hand).

I hope you enjoy my card, and thanks for stopping by!

Winter is for the Birds

Here is the card I'm entering into Lawnscaping Challenge #121/Winter Wonderland.  This is the first challenge I've entered (it was about time, to say the least!)

I used the following stamp/die sets from Lawn Fawn:
Winter Penguin, Winter Sparrows, Milo's ABC's, Joy to the Woods, Snowy Backdrops, and Stitched Hillside dies.  All images were colored with Copic markers, and I added a bit of Icicle Stickles to the caps on the sparrow and the penguin.  Hope you enjoy my card, and thank you for visiting my blog.  I'm a newbie, as you can see!
