I've been busy with my other life, as a hiker. This past summer I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail! I didn't actually do a "thru-hike", but I filled in the nearly 2,200 miles I hadn't yet done. It was an amazing adventure, the trip of a lifetime actually, but I have to admit that the post-trail blues hit me hard. I've lost motivation since returning, and I'm working hard to find my way. 2019 is a fresh start to start...and I aim to take on more crafty challenges. Here is the beginning:<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-CGCJFAU-xC4-H_SDHq-r9pFp8s8Xe7bZTk11u0cGKR0f9Q5LOjaHvC4VAUg0UZUH6nPlHb7JTTMWLTYIMNBc2ETf9KONwfVsma6MdmDn9bUbSy_kcUpu43ImT7HZvQhiMig_BTlcTFg/s640/blogger-image-1575853535.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-CGCJFAU-xC4-H_SDHq-r9pFp8s8Xe7bZTk11u0cGKR0f9Q5LOjaHvC4VAUg0UZUH6nPlHb7JTTMWLTYIMNBc2ETf9KONwfVsma6MdmDn9bUbSy_kcUpu43ImT7HZvQhiMig_BTlcTFg/s640/blogger-image-1575853535.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I made this card for the Lawnfawnatics Challenge #43 Wonderful Winter</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFTaLf4hiAmnqvZEYqd3B1laqEctpNsqJf68tMLi-vCmZC24WZfwbQnGcbM-yxMfEHloAR_wReExZ4wpLzm1C5ds39RQhKUzO9j9vZ2q1nG52x1Erz2CMeMa1JmgeTeceHpFRe8mEqKds/s640/blogger-image--1800649215.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFTaLf4hiAmnqvZEYqd3B1laqEctpNsqJf68tMLi-vCmZC24WZfwbQnGcbM-yxMfEHloAR_wReExZ4wpLzm1C5ds39RQhKUzO9j9vZ2q1nG52x1Erz2CMeMa1JmgeTeceHpFRe8mEqKds/s640/blogger-image--1800649215.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">If I had more time I would have added more to this card, but because the deadline is hours away I had to leave it alone. It didn't turn out quite as how I had perceived it in my mind, but I'm okay with the outcome. Growth is my word for 2019, so there you go. Thanks for stopping by!</div><br></div><div><br></div></div>nancy.allin18http://www.blogger.com/profile/11971100788181891133noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-96223488993747885.post-33555125674369625442017-12-31T16:57:00.001-08:002017-12-31T17:10:25.647-08:00MFT Sketch ChallengeHappy New Year! I can't believe I haven't posted since last April! I definitely need to do a better job. This year was full of adventure for me...rafting, camping, a thru-hike of the Washington portion of the Pacific Crest Trail (that ended with an injury 90 miles from the Canadian border😩), and a wonderful trip to Ireland with my daughter. Anyway, I decided to participate in my very first Sketch Challenge at My Favorite Things. I'm a huge MFT fan, and it's due time that I give it a go!!<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Here's my take:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3Aw7MPlz68sNN7BFUkFg9_eqDCU2Nn-mQyFQvHejKWmAHpoAifUZVcAhHQBye3lGjfyZkUZZ5GQAyaxSGcRnUj995d57KM0KHdz5PhvTOIqarPQ1NAGwxOnFOfKAqPaS2BMt2f5Ch3xc/s640/blogger-image--274451810.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3Aw7MPlz68sNN7BFUkFg9_eqDCU2Nn-mQyFQvHejKWmAHpoAifUZVcAhHQBye3lGjfyZkUZZ5GQAyaxSGcRnUj995d57KM0KHdz5PhvTOIqarPQ1NAGwxOnFOfKAqPaS2BMt2f5Ch3xc/s640/blogger-image--274451810.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC5IUTLWbhXMUlsPEzbnJFLHQYob5_VnHqVSsu3I6RNrKu5_0NTDSnoyu7gGgwFKn3Bnp-jsuPusP0knqGpHNNrD9FMPlkmlFFStQGezq5XyOdCZm4Pe7RBTRW_mileyAFTF6kuWmNiBs/s640/blogger-image-1538712504.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC5IUTLWbhXMUlsPEzbnJFLHQYob5_VnHqVSsu3I6RNrKu5_0NTDSnoyu7gGgwFKn3Bnp-jsuPusP0knqGpHNNrD9FMPlkmlFFStQGezq5XyOdCZm4Pe7RBTRW_mileyAFTF6kuWmNiBs/s640/blogger-image-1538712504.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I used a large variety of MFT images from multiple stamp sets. All images were colored with Copic markers and fussy cut to avoid the white borders (since space was limited on those little squares!). I went with a winter, spring, summer, fall theme in a gradient of blue squares. This card was fun to make, but I'm not gonna lie...it took hours to make! I'm happy with the outcome though, but the fleeting sun made for a dark photo. I was being pelted by rain but I was okay with that. It then struck me that today is Earth Day (and John Muir's birthday)! I created this card in my mind as I ran. I also remembered that the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge is outstanding occasions. Earth Day, in my opinion, certainly is an outstanding occasion. Perfect!!!<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKLyixzP7A2fR7E4Zc6ZOyl8QDbk6fXJwR-mmCIXKuysY1whYs4fne5KTIFaIpkRfCmt0ezz1IEzL7kfJOBbrmEzmwEmMpd-MP1V28FPkooj-LEXJLvZsNBTUX0dWZGKYck3-PZb4VLfs/s640/blogger-image--891024566.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKLyixzP7A2fR7E4Zc6ZOyl8QDbk6fXJwR-mmCIXKuysY1whYs4fne5KTIFaIpkRfCmt0ezz1IEzL7kfJOBbrmEzmwEmMpd-MP1V28FPkooj-LEXJLvZsNBTUX0dWZGKYck3-PZb4VLfs/s640/blogger-image--891024566.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I will enter my card into the Lawn Fawnatics challenge</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzyLEnbvZz3TYjwM-b2bBd1WHcIlEulpU1U7M-MLoW4Fv0py_nlKoXBl5jQ0DnyDOMx2AUBNlOt8htufvFgQo9E70Zk9nQK9qUjy21ji_cSPv6HmeRplZgnGCXKtHKgyF_EvWqg3X7Qh0/s640/blogger-image--1350480545.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzyLEnbvZz3TYjwM-b2bBd1WHcIlEulpU1U7M-MLoW4Fv0py_nlKoXBl5jQ0DnyDOMx2AUBNlOt8htufvFgQo9E70Zk9nQK9qUjy21ji_cSPv6HmeRplZgnGCXKtHKgyF_EvWqg3X7Qh0/s640/blogger-image--1350480545.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I used quite a variety of Lawn Fawn products: Stitched Mountain dies, Happy Happy Happy dies, Stitched tree border, Stitched Hillside dies, Finley's ABC's, Wish You Were Here stamp set, Love You S'more stamps/dies (squirrel and bird), Scalloped Box Card Pop -Up dies (banner), and Watercolor Wishes pattern paper. Phew!! I stamped the globe from Wish You Were Here 5 times, colored them with Copics, then cut the letters out. I'm happy with how this card turned out. It reminds me of the California High Sierras, and of course of the John Muir Trail...in my opinion one of the most beautiful places on Earth. I've been fortunate enough to have hiked this glorious trail 3 times (and ache to do it again!). So...here's a toast to caring for our planet on Earth Day 2017, and to one of my heroes...John Muir!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Thanks for visiting my blog!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Nancy</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br></div>nancy.allin18http://www.blogger.com/profile/11971100788181891133noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-96223488993747885.post-7404782644463045242017-03-30T18:12:00.001-07:002017-03-30T18:16:16.401-07:00Lawn Fawnatics ChallengeI'm so excited that Lawn Fawn has created a challenge blog (I was so sad when Lawnscaping Challenges ended)! <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihbVScRR1DzvGmDjFTjMCusGXuH-zMKktrzU2Bxp5_0GRRmjOby4_G7VpIGLobxmje0dm-IfDpPMj4tssqFl3td1jUCMCnlWbJ9J5LvTO3Ow1PQUFLFYeoi8v37_XS0efHFWQy8r39Rws/s640/blogger-image-1061494925.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihbVScRR1DzvGmDjFTjMCusGXuH-zMKktrzU2Bxp5_0GRRmjOby4_G7VpIGLobxmje0dm-IfDpPMj4tssqFl3td1jUCMCnlWbJ9J5LvTO3Ow1PQUFLFYeoi8v37_XS0efHFWQy8r39Rws/s640/blogger-image-1061494925.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">So...here is the card I created for the first challenge:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEwcosWTC-GTNJpdKBCsPiAx9um0IIisf3g4OI3Of6k5WO1u_q31UXJ8Wf4xvjiQLsC5QslAupIkyv0yKzy_d1T16-LkUt7KMY-jV9FRKPkpztvFV9S18vUK0nHSTj-wQ11zbb0Gunhus/s640/blogger-image--1190060572.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEwcosWTC-GTNJpdKBCsPiAx9um0IIisf3g4OI3Of6k5WO1u_q31UXJ8Wf4xvjiQLsC5QslAupIkyv0yKzy_d1T16-LkUt7KMY-jV9FRKPkpztvFV9S18vUK0nHSTj-wQ11zbb0Gunhus/s640/blogger-image--1190060572.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I love the creations of Melissa Bickford @justdandystudio. Just in the nick of time, I created this card:<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8csq58NvfhmChfDLWy57SDwrxaGLeoMJqDHDrrFzB0pTh1xohVSjwnhaLJ8wuOva62iVIpjAp-d3GD2lBKMCLksPecQEV4JRmD_dqsyePCojRL5z6FfmslNICQ27PNGYO8WRyupgcBKo/s640/blogger-image-2124731382.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8csq58NvfhmChfDLWy57SDwrxaGLeoMJqDHDrrFzB0pTh1xohVSjwnhaLJ8wuOva62iVIpjAp-d3GD2lBKMCLksPecQEV4JRmD_dqsyePCojRL5z6FfmslNICQ27PNGYO8WRyupgcBKo/s640/blogger-image-2124731382.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="http://ellenhutson.typepad.com/the_classroom_new/2017/02/ellen-hutson-february-mix-it-up-challenge-28-lilac-lane.html">http://ellenhutson.typepad.com/the_classroom_new/2017/02/ellen-hutson-february-mix-it-up-challenge-28-lilac-lane.html</a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div></div></div></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I knew I had to create a shaker card utilizing one of May's gorgeous 28 Lilac Lane sets. I used the Tropical Twist set, which is filled with buttons, sequins, seed beads, pearls, and trim (twine and charms). In fact this set actually includes a pineapple charm, but I couldn't figure out how to incorporate it onto this card. I used the Stay Golden stamp and die set from Essentials by Ellen. I clear embossed the smallest pineapple image onto Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. The pattern paper is from a Doodlebug 6x 6 pad. If anyone is reading this blog post...gracias! I appreciate your visit!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Nancy</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br></div>nancy.allin18http://www.blogger.com/profile/11971100788181891133noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-96223488993747885.post-13560256405746453562017-01-17T16:55:00.001-08:002017-01-17T16:57:52.682-08:00Ellen Hutson Mix-It Up Challenge with Avery ElleI created a card to enter into the Mix-It Up Challenge over on the Ellen Hutson blog. This time around they are teaming up with Avery Elle. After looking through my sets from those two companies, it was obvious that the adorable bear from All Inside would be the perfect companion to Ellie!<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpQDBNrBZSopMMgCJXTyLHXzx6vLuZ3QSp94jH7MGXPtqhDL3Mdcm7UMfamZRLylmiErCOWaCGOxzuFPnMA4vqpaVzGYET4W0pHd4a4P_r32LzmjWAUTCJ9Lubb-0eEqr3ArTuc2mlYxU/s640/blogger-image--1276968317.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpQDBNrBZSopMMgCJXTyLHXzx6vLuZ3QSp94jH7MGXPtqhDL3Mdcm7UMfamZRLylmiErCOWaCGOxzuFPnMA4vqpaVzGYET4W0pHd4a4P_r32LzmjWAUTCJ9Lubb-0eEqr3ArTuc2mlYxU/s640/blogger-image--1276968317.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="http://ellenhutson.typepad.com/the_classroom_new/mix-it-up-challenge/">http://ellenhutson.typepad.com/the_classroom_new/mix-it-up-challenge/</a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I used the following sets:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Essentials by Ellen: All Inside (the cutest bear image in my opinion!), Bear Ware, Warm Fuzzies</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Avery Elle: Ellie (the cutest elephant image in my opinion!)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">All images were colored with Copic markers. I always say I'm going to do so more regularly but it doesn't seem to happen. Working full time as a long-term substitute teacher didn't help! So this card was a pleasure to make after a long holiday season (the crafting holiday season starts in September, right?). I used Lawn Fawn's Love Letters set, as well as the Happy Mail dies. How fun is that mailbox? I had to add a brad to the little flag for a little interactiveness! Because I don't own the coordinating dies I used the cute little bird from Let's Play. His little heart shaped wings fit the scene. I also used the Leafy Tree Backdrop die and the grassy border. And...here is my card:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYMuc4_CSquwKFOUpw1CFFipN0hrSouHubYJnGnguqwAt1wgT6SsSHWg_DpB2oGHr4vEx1I2XoC05XCm-tetUWzVIUbxKNnebWwaRM1jFRiJtkPw2-JrgyCpl_qOYUz2TsV1Lnk1hShf0/s640/blogger-image--1631208864.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYMuc4_CSquwKFOUpw1CFFipN0hrSouHubYJnGnguqwAt1wgT6SsSHWg_DpB2oGHr4vEx1I2XoC05XCm-tetUWzVIUbxKNnebWwaRM1jFRiJtkPw2-JrgyCpl_qOYUz2TsV1Lnk1hShf0/s640/blogger-image--1631208864.jpg"></a></div><br></div></div>Thank you for stopping by!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Nancy</div><br></div>nancy.allin18http://www.blogger.com/profile/11971100788181891133noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-96223488993747885.post-75640407608853298672016-10-21T14:18:00.001-07:002016-10-21T14:18:29.386-07:00Lawn Fawn Interactive Card<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I created a slider card with a hidden slider channel. I used Distress Inks to color the houses and sky. I've been missing in action for sometime now. However, I have happily returned to my crafty life! I have created a card for the <span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Essentials by Ellen September Mix it Up Challenge with Concord & 9th. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7YgWkXbfCdv7OOf8preWYdX8Gk3WOOUiXHX_8IdrsZ3VKhyphenhyphenR07x9_PzurnXYsWtGDRbHhl8s7CINGmqbV-UYG-erluAnypC1uRwhOqJQqEI186wIICBJPMMQ4Q0k7hVwdalSW4SIvvzM/s640/blogger-image-1930511641.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7YgWkXbfCdv7OOf8preWYdX8Gk3WOOUiXHX_8IdrsZ3VKhyphenhyphenR07x9_PzurnXYsWtGDRbHhl8s7CINGmqbV-UYG-erluAnypC1uRwhOqJQqEI186wIICBJPMMQ4Q0k7hVwdalSW4SIvvzM/s640/blogger-image-1930511641.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">To be honest, I only own one Concord and 9th stamp...the tree ring background (not to say that I don't have more of their sets on my wish list). So...my options were limited. The adorable bear from Essentials by Ellen's All Inside seemed to fit with the tree ring. I white heat embossed the tree ring and blended on distress inks (Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo, and Ground Expresso). The bucket came from the Bear Wear set by Essentials by Ellen, and the fitting sentiment from Warm Fuzzies. LOVE these sets and how they all work together!! The images were colored with Copics. There you have it. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Thanks for visiting my lonely and neglected little blog...it's greatly appreciated!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Nancy</div></span>nancy.allin18http://www.blogger.com/profile/11971100788181891133noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-96223488993747885.post-90875663284999773732016-05-17T15:04:00.001-07:002016-05-17T15:08:41.053-07:00Simon Says Stamp May 2016 Card KitI'm finally posting a card that wasn't created using Lawn Fawn stamps exclusively! I subscribe to the SSS card kit, and I love receiving my box of goodies each month. I almost never pass on a kit. I'm not always so good about using my kits to make more than a few cards, but I aim to get better at that. <div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-DEB9MrRLpJl5v8acSjSv0kjXrVfRTxFQEHShDTjVBEcVqYeDy7F37wQyCs4DOevre7C039WtMIzvV3rt5PdohydZzFrTw8S9E15tAZ8Mz3LGj22ljRVknvpe-gxBpbQ-Wi2noD7p3yU/s640/blogger-image-637439675.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-DEB9MrRLpJl5v8acSjSv0kjXrVfRTxFQEHShDTjVBEcVqYeDy7F37wQyCs4DOevre7C039WtMIzvV3rt5PdohydZzFrTw8S9E15tAZ8Mz3LGj22ljRVknvpe-gxBpbQ-Wi2noD7p3yU/s640/blogger-image-637439675.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I stamped the sun and clouds using selective inking to delete the smiley faces, then masked to blend the sky using Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Inks. I paper pieced the umbrella using one of the adorable plaid papers by Lawn Fawn that are included in the kit. I needed the umbrella to protect something, so reached for the cute little bird from Lawn Fawn's Year Four stamp set. The sentiment is from the Pink Fresh stickers from the kit, and I used the grassy border die (Lawn Fawn). Hard to see, but I added Glossy Accents to the raindrops. The sun was colored with Zig Clean Color markers, and I used Copics on the clouds (the clouds are covering up the catastrophe created when I attempted to use the gray Clean Color marker!). I'm happy with the way my card turned out, but there were some redos along the way!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Thanks for visiting my blog!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br></div>nancy.allin18http://www.blogger.com/profile/11971100788181891133noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-96223488993747885.post-86823191420324832412016-04-22T09:48:00.001-07:002016-04-22T09:48:54.345-07:00You're Unbelievable/Lawnscaping Challenge #128Time for another Lawnscaping Challenge. This one is a sketch challenge, which I've never done before. I have to say, though, that I really liked having the sketch to draw from. It took some of the guesswork out of it for me! Once I saw those two diagonal lines, I thought of a highway. And that, of course, led me to the Happy Trails set. Big Foot was an afterthought. <div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-ADUXrsRptHRiKIkTUPXxlqRqiDSx3HyciRpOWpYQAfsTzjycBn0nv199R605MMICCkz0VzZpFNDqFMyvGX7rOvYa6ZW3pCG3Eu8sZfwpOw06QMT4lucYzFhvrAHG8hrVGcTNrja7Q8I/s640/blogger-image-362799791.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-ADUXrsRptHRiKIkTUPXxlqRqiDSx3HyciRpOWpYQAfsTzjycBn0nv199R605MMICCkz0VzZpFNDqFMyvGX7rOvYa6ZW3pCG3Eu8sZfwpOw06QMT4lucYzFhvrAHG8hrVGcTNrja7Q8I/s640/blogger-image-362799791.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I have to be honest...this card was my fourth attempt! The other three just didn't make the cut! Lawn Fawn sets used: Happy Trails stamps/dies, Lovable Legends stamps/dies, tree background die, So Jelly (inside sentiment), Journal dies (stars). I used the mirror stamping technique so that one of the cars could travel the opposite direction. This card is as CAS as I am capable of! Here's the inside:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLzBCiStdp-XNX_cb0bVMpEfc-drMV23mQaVt27FzhWPvMwJErp31Up1D0N8kXZozMFoYb5khTwX53nYsR25u-8deSxMA4m7PIPagJ2rilYV_h0r_SQM7yrzsJiEnz_XlEcbx-mpep2qc/s640/blogger-image--1302191226.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLzBCiStdp-XNX_cb0bVMpEfc-drMV23mQaVt27FzhWPvMwJErp31Up1D0N8kXZozMFoYb5khTwX53nYsR25u-8deSxMA4m7PIPagJ2rilYV_h0r_SQM7yrzsJiEnz_XlEcbx-mpep2qc/s640/blogger-image--1302191226.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I really enjoyed this sketch challenge!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcG9MkDapWAl3fHzE92_AEbIwDTjQJR9z02lIY_0LX8Cgp3vEsdj5keBZGUlcfhDyJ5ysjvc6GJxgRGrl_anNORlcwhhpJXd3Re5AfvYJ774uZLaP6ZcnTHGPfq1jF91qnrOUp-PtviP4/s640/blogger-image-368982777.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcG9MkDapWAl3fHzE92_AEbIwDTjQJR9z02lIY_0LX8Cgp3vEsdj5keBZGUlcfhDyJ5ysjvc6GJxgRGrl_anNORlcwhhpJXd3Re5AfvYJ774uZLaP6ZcnTHGPfq1jF91qnrOUp-PtviP4/s640/blogger-image-368982777.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Thanks for stopping by my blog!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Nancy</div><br></div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br></div><br></div></div>nancy.allin18http://www.blogger.com/profile/11971100788181891133noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-96223488993747885.post-60897391960803868732016-04-13T16:36:00.001-07:002016-04-13T16:43:02.078-07:00Gathering Flowers/Lawnscaping Challenge #127Another Lawnscaping Challenge. I almost didn't make a card for this challenge...I'm not too good with florals. I thought I'd give it a try anyways. Here's what I came up with:<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCO1w8UU4AXFXpsjEFCl7yh3jR-R6BC8sDCIuDbholc1QxCdaIYnX5jjVL-mBrWVFsQVS4gSk31o5a3g8TuhEuiGn_c8ytlXOM15mHbr8Y2TU4VeBDs480B1uHZzDZlE3EPAJdF7cBvdc/s640/blogger-image--770077372.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCO1w8UU4AXFXpsjEFCl7yh3jR-R6BC8sDCIuDbholc1QxCdaIYnX5jjVL-mBrWVFsQVS4gSk31o5a3g8TuhEuiGn_c8ytlXOM15mHbr8Y2TU4VeBDs480B1uHZzDZlE3EPAJdF7cBvdc/s640/blogger-image--770077372.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I watercolored the background using my Koi watercolors. That's another skill I'm trying to improve upon! I used the following Lawn Fawn sets: Party Animals, Love You S'more (squirrel), Happy Harvest (sunflowers), Our Friendship Grows (vase and stem/leaves), Life is Good (sentiment). Pattern paper is from Polka in the Meadow and Perfectly Plaid. Images were colored with Copic markers.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I will be entering this into Lawnscaping Challenge #127/Beautiful Florals</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvmONnQglW_eJv4fHIOfbJMB5F2NnMEEVdV56DHC3xrySmKs9EK59zXAJJNbbOV-qz-W3vSGxlcTm73MLg3t0vIsufDl0i87QMmF3vkQqH7-FXTUZAVYQWE88ePDWy94dex4CxyqM9Gtc/s640/blogger-image-1425947452.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvmONnQglW_eJv4fHIOfbJMB5F2NnMEEVdV56DHC3xrySmKs9EK59zXAJJNbbOV-qz-W3vSGxlcTm73MLg3t0vIsufDl0i87QMmF3vkQqH7-FXTUZAVYQWE88ePDWy94dex4CxyqM9Gtc/s640/blogger-image-1425947452.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Off to add it...almost out of time. I wanted to use the adorable skunk from Lawn Fawn's Stinkin' Cute, but didn't have a solid plan in mind. I knew I needed to use mostly black and white with a splash of color, so that's where the night sky came to mind. It all evolved from there. I find that my cards usually do NOT end up the way I had envisioned them! Anyway, I used the following sets from Lawn Fawn: Starry Backdrops, Love You S'more, Stinkin' Cute, Milo's ABCs, as well as the tree and stitched hillside border dies. The night sky was created by blending Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire, Hickory Smoke, and Black Soot distress inks. I also added the Black Soot to the front hillside to get a darker hue since I didn't have a dark gray card stock that worked. The skunk and campfire were colored with Copics.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpa1cWvxUYrxjjh48JxwqM1URKtcTXLZIWkFmdZD2IwVSm6jdXYWZCIyJIJUL2zRfTEED_E_cbyx5BBA6USQdkTCJNKAFls2HeZHGvkZzIBH-gxByQdCbr3KdVXpSJEDFBC8S3B9bbVAc/s640/blogger-image--386231299.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpa1cWvxUYrxjjh48JxwqM1URKtcTXLZIWkFmdZD2IwVSm6jdXYWZCIyJIJUL2zRfTEED_E_cbyx5BBA6USQdkTCJNKAFls2HeZHGvkZzIBH-gxByQdCbr3KdVXpSJEDFBC8S3B9bbVAc/s640/blogger-image--386231299.jpg"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I will be entering this card into Lawnscape Challenge #125 Color Splash</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXCUByYnS5G-9piEvMwbMCjPXIAKwN7cyWDr1DIS5vS-rrOr5NibmBFD8Ac5QbTXX8z9CU_3t6Jh33IHPS33TEAoEx_xSnqGCy8BlgEQtrCDRpVwagACptW8nXXR2JhlY3zq-rjsRcqVw/s640/blogger-image-1424188982.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXCUByYnS5G-9piEvMwbMCjPXIAKwN7cyWDr1DIS5vS-rrOr5NibmBFD8Ac5QbTXX8z9CU_3t6Jh33IHPS33TEAoEx_xSnqGCy8BlgEQtrCDRpVwagACptW8nXXR2JhlY3zq-rjsRcqVw/s640/blogger-image-1424188982.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Thank you for visiting my little ol' blog. I had the idea to fill it up with hearts rather than the gum balls, and some selective inking did the trick. I then filled it up with hearts, masking as I went so that there would be a good pile of them. I searched through my stash for the perfect sized heart, finally settling on one from the Happy Wedding set by Lawn Fawn. I stamped the faces from the Sweet Smiles set, giving each heart a personality. I used Finley's ABC's for the letters, and pattern paper from the Hello Sunshine 6x6 pad. The gum ball, I mean heart, machine as well as the large heart were coated with Glossy Accents to give them some shine. The background was created using the falling hearts stencil from Simon Says Stamp and spun sugar distress ink.</div><div><br></div><div>I had plans to enter my card into the Lawnscaping Challenge #123/Sending Love, but I'm a couple days late :(. Give me pink and red anytime! I love the hot air balloon stamp by Simon Says Stamp/Pretty Pink Posh (Darling Friends), and knew it would work perfectly for my card. I sponged the cloud background using a mask created from Lawn Fawn's cloud border die and Tumbled Glass distress ink. The "love" is from the Peace, Joy, Love stamp set by Lawn Fawn, and I used Milo's ABC's for the rest of the sentiment. The balloon and adorable mouse were colored with Copics and fussy cut since I don't own the dies. The pattern paper is from Doodlebug's Sweethearts collection (an older pad I had on hand).</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiA7lZ66sJYiPYml_SApPPlrViXx5nqRFJUzsbx6fbTFNvLERPUSvV0VEqxOpVh1LrSl49YrsQJJaPUOHGjFBlnQgpWueUjn0q0R5OVaLbbM-9dkthVp2XyneQBikJ8dvs7bWt73w8WQAA/s640/blogger-image--1855187163.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiA7lZ66sJYiPYml_SApPPlrViXx5nqRFJUzsbx6fbTFNvLERPUSvV0VEqxOpVh1LrSl49YrsQJJaPUOHGjFBlnQgpWueUjn0q0R5OVaLbbM-9dkthVp2XyneQBikJ8dvs7bWt73w8WQAA/s640/blogger-image--1855187163.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I hope you enjoy my card, and thanks for stopping by!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Nancy</div>nancy.allin18http://www.blogger.com/profile/11971100788181891133noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-96223488993747885.post-92015495442073880822016-01-09T11:08:00.001-08:002016-01-09T11:09:33.559-08:00Winter is for the Birds<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAGTgnwh5FrLqaNfl2Lf-DIwiVcjoSWc_bU1SAcTJCbbGjMAwz4z6ajXTUFuqrkY6GImeuD9cUFzOYvaWPYOVlEMqET7vSWkh0S0IFVatqO4hfAKjhf_c1Kdi7cXit83UK0u7b4Nt68Wk/s640/blogger-image-660544527.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAGTgnwh5FrLqaNfl2Lf-DIwiVcjoSWc_bU1SAcTJCbbGjMAwz4z6ajXTUFuqrkY6GImeuD9cUFzOYvaWPYOVlEMqET7vSWkh0S0IFVatqO4hfAKjhf_c1Kdi7cXit83UK0u7b4Nt68Wk/s640/blogger-image-660544527.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Here is the card I'm entering into Lawnscaping Challenge #121/Winter Wonderland. I'm really enjoying the class and learning some new design concepts. I created this card using Lawn Fawn's Happy Harvest, Give Thanks, Party Animals, and Milo's ABC's. All images were colored with Copic markers. Here is the card I created using the one line design:<div><br></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt-mPoz33UhMhx_uOmObhFZ9kpr9idqf2P2mHwVazXkKR4B0SyuxNBs4itzEEHMFANmZDdprNJ_JZW8NdHpgiPOcHSREonftTra7I8tNj3dM-0laXgD6GTeN1eq3x5ezcQirAZBlWYHvg/s640/blogger-image-577812927.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt-mPoz33UhMhx_uOmObhFZ9kpr9idqf2P2mHwVazXkKR4B0SyuxNBs4itzEEHMFANmZDdprNJ_JZW8NdHpgiPOcHSREonftTra7I8tNj3dM-0laXgD6GTeN1eq3x5ezcQirAZBlWYHvg/s640/blogger-image-577812927.jpg"></a></div>nancy.allin18http://www.blogger.com/profile/11971100788181891133noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-96223488993747885.post-49231908425415167292015-11-10T08:36:00.000-08:002015-11-10T08:36:30.471-08:00Today is the Day!I've written my first blog post numerous times over the past few months, only to delete them! Well, today is the day. My technical skills are not the best but I'm determined to learn. My goals involve sharing my stamping creations and entering challenges to grow my crafting skills. <span id="goog_910906335"></span><span id="goog_910906336"></span><br />
